It’s been awhile since I have posted anything here and I apologize. I have several projects in the works and needed to get some work done on them. If you know anything about my work, you’re aware that I prefer making my websites with wordpress. However on these projects the index page is a simple html and css page, the rest of the sites will be done with wordpress. The templates I had to make in wordpress to match my index page were a little more difficult than I’m use to working with.

I also was taking in as much information as I possibly could on local business Internet marketing consulting. This appears to be a very viable business model and even though I don’t like being a sales person if done my way it will play well using my strengths. One of my biggest strengths is to take in information that sounds very complicated, work it all out in my mind and then be able to explain or teach the material in a very easy to understand manner. I believe this could be a big plus in this type of business.

Most small business owners aren’t familiar at all with marketing or branding themselves on the Internet. Because of this, many haven’t any presence at all or are set up all wrong and were totally mislead. I would start them out on facebook, go over iframes with them and explain to the business owner my plan of how to take there ad viral. I would do this in such a way that it would make perfect sense. Which reminds me, come October 1st any outside links being brought into Facebook must be hosted on a secure server. There link will begin with https instead of http.

If you sell them on the Facebook service, then mention something about their website like an after thought. If they have one, offer to take a look at it and give your opinion.

If you can get them on board for these two services, it would really be a judgment call to go for more that day or not. The way you charge is a one time set up fee and then a monthly maintenance fee. Now before you even walk into a business, you must have legal contracts already drawn up with the services you offer, the prices for your services and ready to be signed. Once you make your sales, make sure that you walk out with the check for the services agreed on.

I am still learning this local business consulting and will probably add more on this at a later date.
