How To Make Money Online. The Real Truth.

Webinars, Are They Worth Your Time?

First of all I want to make it perfectly clear that I’m not into marketing to other marketers at all. That is a very tough business to break into and in my opinion has really went downhill in the last two to three years. I am on a lot of lists that do involve this type of marketing because they do come out with some very helpful tools at times.

This is what brings up talking a little bit about attending a webinar. Now a webinar gets pushed on you pretty hard and the host will really try to sell it. They will tell you to have a pen and paper so you can take plenty of notes. The person that will be interviewed is going to be grilled and explain how his whole system works. So make sure you sign up for this webinar now, there’s limited seating and it will fill up fast.

I have no idea how many of these I have attended. I’m also the type of person that takes notes on everything and anything that I hear and like. So the first few webinars I sat in on, I had my pen in hand and my paper in front of me ready to take some serious notes. After and hour and a half of listening, the only thing written down on my notepad was a web address and a price of $497.00. Now this type of price is usually anywhere from sixty to seventy five percent off of the regular price. Then if you can make that type of money hit their account within twenty minutes you’ll get a once in a lifetime bonus offer that’s worth thousands of dollars. Now I’m not going to say that the products are not worth that much, because some of them actually are and more. But I personally don’t like giving up ninety minutes of my time listening to a hyped up sales pitch without any useful content whatsoever.

Now on the business end, they teach, you can make a lot of money doing webinars. This is probably true, but again my personal opinion is that you would probably make more long term money doing an actual content loaded interview selling yourself, your marketing strategies and letting the people that are listening in get to actually know you. Then just in the closing, let them know about some of your products and the urls of some of the web sites you have. This way you are giving the people that gave up ninety minutes of their time 5 to 10 pages of your best content and if you did the job right, they will be hungry for more and be signing up for your newsletter and purchasing a few of you products.

When you are trying to grow a business, you need to think long term, not just one big payday. So to me and my way of thinking about business growth if you can get 200 people signed up for your content, then give them exactly that. I personally don’t see anyway that you can lose, especially if there are still 200 people still listening after ninety minutes. When doing the long sales pitch, how many long term customers would you estimate that were gained. In my mind and considering what I end up doing, I would think you may have (if your lucky) fifty people still on the call. Then once they hear the price it probably drops to less than that.

Keep in mind that I am not condemning anyone that does this, it has been going on for a long time and there must be money in it. The articles that I write here are based strictly on my opinion and core values toward growing a business.
