Virtual Real Estate.

Do you really understand the meaning of the phrase Virtual Real Estate? Whenever you purchase a domain name, web hosting and place a website on it you now own a piece of virtual real estate. It actually has a value at this point. Obviously it isn’t much but the property is worth something. Just like physical property what is done with it can increase it’s value, decrease the value or let it die.

In order to make the most out of your Virtual Real Estate right from the beginning, will require some research on your part. Before you even pick a domain name make sure the website is I a niche that can turn a profit. It doesn’t have to be a mansion but needs to be better than an aluminum garden tool shed.

Once this has been thought out, then purchase a good keyword rich domain name, preferably .com then .net or .org. If you follow these steps, your Virtual Real Estate is already worth some money. Now you’re in a position to make it worth some real money by having a product and content. If you really did your research well it will have opportunity to grow.

If you have picked a niche that can create side sells, up sells and plenty of back end sales guess what, with the proper marketing skills you have laid the foundation for a mansion. Now if you work at it, start getting traffic and sales the value of your Virtual Real Estate continues to grow. Don’t take this as Gospel because I haven’t done any research on it, but I was told by one person that the value of your Virtual Real Estate is the amount of money it takes in for a two year period.

The point is, every web site you build becomes part of your Internet worth, you can flip some of your sites, if you need money. I consider myself to have pretty good business sense and what I am about to say makes perfect business sense, but I can’t bring myself to ever do it. This one simple little word has all but wiped out the middle class in the United States and has put millions out of work. I’m sure it has taken its toll in other countries also. The one little word that is probably the most hated by manufacturing workers and leaves nothing but economic destruction in its path “outsourcing”. You could probably even do that to become a virtual Realtor.
