What Do You Think of Video Sales Pages?
How do you feel when you hear about a product that you are interested in and all that is sitting there is a video. There is no product, price or information, just a video that is getting ready to play. I understand that my feelings about using video as the only means to sell, on a web site puts me in a very slight minority group but I personally don’t like it at all. It’s almost like buying a car and being stuck hearing some salesman blowing smoke up your a__ for thirty minutes before you find out the price.
Then at the end of the video, again it’s like listening to a car salesman. You get to hear how much money it has taken to produce this product and how much they should be charging. Maybe this sounds a little familiar, I could easily charge $5000 and that would be a good price. Then you get the count down, but I’m not going to charge you $5000 I’m not even going to charge you $3500 not even $1000 which would almost be like giving it away. But for the first 50 to purchase I am going to let you have it for just $497 and I’ll even through in this extra special bonus.
Now I don’t know about you, but even if it was the greatest product on the face of the earth, I can’t afford $497. So I have just had twenty to thirty minutes of my time wasted. I don’t have a half hour to waste and I don’t really don’t know why I bother with these sites anyway. So now I’m usually done before the video starts.
However, I feel that when it comes to training, video is great. It is so much easier to learn by watching how something is done instead of reading about it. Now as I mentioned I am in the minority on this and all the big guns say video marketing and sales pages work much better than a regular sales page. I have not done any testing on it myself, but I will definitely use it for training products.
